G.L.O.M. has an experienced clinical team that uses the rehabilitative model of treatment for mental illness.
Clinical Services
At G.L.O.M. our licensed clinical staff focus on delivering non-medical services to individuals with mental illness or behavioral disorders who are linked to County Behavioral Health, with empathy and expertise. Our clinical team strives to support client development to ensure they can once again make positive contributions to the community.
G.L.O.M.’s clinical team facilitates an integrative whole-person approach with emphasis on addressing emotional, behavioral, and spiritual needs. Our progressive, evidence-based practices are comprehensive and include individual therapy, group therapy, and most importantly 24-hour crisis intervention. We promote individuality while aiming to restore the highest level of functioning and quality of life for our clients.
Initial Assessment:
Initial assessments are conducted within 24 hours upon client’s arrival to program. Our initial assessment includes a comprehensive, individualized assessment, including the client’s history, biological, psychological, social, and related risk factors. Emphasis is placed on gathering information that accurately captures a client’s overall journey prior to entering G.L.O.M’s program.
Individual Therapy:
Our Clinicians provide scheduled weekly individual therapy. The modalities utilized in therapy include but are not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Existential Therapy. The primary goal of therapy is focused on supporting client’s overall mental health and wellness.
Crisis Intervention:
Our Clinicians are thoroughly trained to provide crisis intervention, offering a collaborative approach. Once the Clinician is informed of a crisis, a risk assessment is determined to gauge the level of risk to the client, peers, and staff. The Clinician then consults with the Clinical Supervisor to deem the most appropriate approach to support the client and restore functioning.
Group Therapy:
Group therapy provides an opportunity to interact with peers, practice socialization skills, and foster interpersonal development. Group therapy is offered to clients to support their overall treatment and provide clients with the ability to apply skills learned in individual therapy. Clinicians utilize curriculum which includes client workbooks to create an interactive environment.
At G.L.O.M. our Clinicians strive to:
- Provide stability to all clients
- Understand and help navigate co-occurring disorders
- Help clients avoid psychiatric hospitalization
- Provide further stabilization after hospitalization
